Strategy Tips
- The center square is scored 4 times, more than any other square. Try to make it match your hole cards
- Other than the center square, the diagonals are used more than other squares. Each diagonal square is used in 1 row, 1 column, and 1 diagonal.
- Using your hole cards is the key to a high score. If you use one hole card, you get a x2 bonus. If you use both, you get a x4 bonus!
-
Watch your flushes! Remember that you always get the best five card poker hand, so having 5 cards of the same suit on the board may prevent you from using your hole cards to complete the flush (thus costing you a x2 bonus!)
Consider: you have AQT76 of hearts in a row, but you are holding the 2 and 3 of hearts. You get 20 for the flush, because the 2 and 3 are not part of the best 5 card hand. However, if the 7 and 6 of hearts were not in the row, your
flush would be AQT + 23 of hearts (using both hole cards), for a total of 20 x 4 = 80 points!
- Try to build flushes in columns, and straights, trips, and full houses in rows.
